Let your creative spirit run wild with this magical activity!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see a leprechaun? Or a troll? Have you ever thought about what you would do if you ran into an elf? Would you like to go dancing with witches?
Music teacher Carolyn Slezak of Skano Elementary School in the Shenendehowa Central School District shared this activity with Summer Adventure.
Listen to “Anitra’s Dance” by Edvard Grieg. This is part of a larger piece of music called the Peer Gynt Suite. As you listen, can you see leprechauns? Can you imagine yourself dancing with witches, or hearing a mermaid sing?
As you listen, create movement to go along with the music. Find a bright piece of fabric, a scarf, a colorful T-shirt or a towel to use with your movement. Be creative, use your imagination, and have fun!
