Superhero Training (Grades K-5)

Work out like a superhero! These short exercises will help you be your best.

Do you want to work out like a superhero? Try these five quick exercises below! Cape and mask are optional.

1. Superman Jumps

  1. Crouch down.
  2. Jump into the air, extending your hands above you like you’re taking off into the air.
  3. Repeat.

2. Flash Runs

  1. Run in place for ten seconds.
  2. Jump to one side.
  3. Run in place for ten seconds.
  4. Jump to the other side.
  5. Repeat.

3. Thor Lifts

  1. Get a dictionary or other heavy book.
  2. Start with the book held in front of your chest.
  3. Lift the book above your head.
  4. Bring it back down to your chest.
  5. Twist to one side, then to the other.
  6. Repeat.

4. Spider-Man Crawls

  1. Get down so you are on your hands and feet.
  2. Crawl forward three steps, then crawl backward.
  3. Crawl to one side, then to the other.
  4. Repeat.

5. Wonder Woman Lunges

  1. Jump into the air, then land with one leg forward and one back, crouching down.
  2. Jump into the air again and switch your forward and back legs.
  3. As you land, bring up the same arm as the leg that is forward to block.
  4. Repeat.
